Church News January 4, 2019

Dear Members and Friends of Zion,

A star! It led the magi to Jerusalem and there they heard the Word that the King would be born in Bethlehem. And with the arrival of these Gentile “kings,” we see that Jesus’ birth is for all people, Jew and Gentile alike. He came to be the Savior of the whole world! Now the star points to church, where you will hear this Good News for all people once again as we celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord this weekend!

THIS SUNDAY, we will be UN-DECORATING the church and putting away all the Christmas decorations. We’ll do this after Learning the Faith so stick around or come back and share an hour or two of your time. The more people we have the quicker we’ll get this done!

Join us THIS COMING WEDNESDAY for SUPPER at 6pm followed by EVENING PRAYER (with Holy Communion). It’s something new we’re doing: The First Wednesday of each month, (although January it’s the second) we’ll have a meal before worship so we can get together around good food and then gather together around Christ’s gifts. It’s Wednesday fellowship and gifts outside of Advent and Lent! NOTE: The Service will be different than Sunday’s. Join us! This first supper will be provided by our Elders.

The big holidays have come and gone but we still live in the light of Christ! The Lord richly bless you in 2019 in Jesus!

See you in the Divine Service this weekend!

In Christ, Pastor Buetow
