The word “Trinity” is not in the Bible. But Sunday is the feast day of the Holy Trinity. When we say “trinity” we are just using a sort of “shorthand” to describe what God reveals in His Word about who He is. One God. Three Persons. Each Person truly God but not three Gods. Don’t worry, it’ll all be laid out in the words of the Athanasian Creed! It matters what we believe about God. It’s not just one opinion versus another. Not just a pious thought or a good intention. To confess who God is and how He operates is the difference between making up our own gods versus the true God revealing Himself to us in order to save us. The Father sends the Son to become Man and die and rise for us. The Son sends the Spirit to teach us His Word. The Spirit brings us to faith, to believe in Jesus. Believing in Jesus is to see and know the Father. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all working together with one purpose: to redeem and save you and give you everlasting life. It matters what we believe. We believe, teach, and confess this faith, because this is what God Himself has shown and told us through His Word. That’s this week for the celebration of The Holy Trinity.
NEW MEMBERS AND CHURCH PICNIC SUNDAY
We’re welcoming many new members who have come to Zion in the last couple of years. They have come by marriage, by baptisms, transfers, and professions of faith. Please welcome them. Introduce yourself and make them feel like part of the Zion family!
To help us do that, please stay for our Church Picnic after the service on Sunday. Bring a dessert, side dish, chips, or something else to share. We’ll get set up and have the food going after the service.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS is next week! “God’s Wonder Lab: Jesus Does the Impossible” is our theme. We’re meeting all next week, June 13-17, from 9-11am each day. You can find a form to fill out to register your child at THIS LINK.
SCHOOL ENROLLMENT 2022-23
Our school is now enrolling for next year. If you know anyone with children ages 3 years old through Second Grade, send them our way for more information on our Christ-centered academic excellence!

To know who God is, you have to know who Jesus is. The Triune God reveals Himself in the Person of the Son who became man to save sinners. We may not be able to wrap our minds around God but we can certainly relate to a man, a fellow human being. What does Jesus show us about God? He lays down his life for us and takes it up again. He welcomes the weary and sinners to rest and forgiveness. He promises a place in Paradise. He shows us that God loves us and will go through suffering and death to bring us back to His family. Father. Son. Holy Spirit. Doing their thing to make you a child of God now and forever. That’s our confession of faith we make each time we are gathered in His house. See you in the Divine Service!
In Christ,
