Church Email News, March 27, 2020

Friday, March 27, 2020

Dear Members & Friends,

The time is almost here. For getting out of this “Shelter In Place” stuff? Maybe. Hopefully! But I mean the time for Jesus’ to give His life for the sins of the world. In the Gospel reading Sunday they are ready to stone Jesus! Why? What did He do? He spoke the truth. He exposed their unbelief and that they despised Him as their Savior. They were ready to kill him right then! But it wasn’t His time. We think that Jesus’ death was awful, and it is. But remember, He is the Lamb given in the place of Isaac. He is the Lamb given in your place by your Heavenly Father, to be your Savior. Holy Week and the time of Jesus’ death approaches. Jesus doesn’t seek His glory but your salvation. Tune in to our Matins service service this Sunday and hear the Good News.

Not much has changed since our last email. I hope most of you have been able to access our recordings, if not live, then at least through our website. Here’s a recap of how to watch:

Streaming and Recorded Video
Some information about our streaming and video so you can watch online. I realize that not everyone is on Facebook. See below how you can stream if you are not.

We have streaming live on our FACEBOOK PAGE HERE.

However, our videos are also on YOUTUBE HERE.

The simplest way to watch online is probably through our church’s website HERE.

Make sure to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to our Facebook and YouTube Pages so you get updates when we go live and or add videos.

Video Schedule
Monday through Saturday – 8:00 AM Video Devotions (Facebook Live-stream)

Wednesdays, Evening Prayer at 7:00 PM

Sundays, Matins at 9:00 AM

Holy Week and Easter
We intend to stream a recorded or live version of services for Holy Week. The Schedule is as follows:

Palm Sunday, April 5 – Live-stream at 9am

Monday-Good Friday, April 6-10 – Services streamed at 7:00 PM

Saturday, April 11 – Easter Vigil live-streamed at 6:00 PM

Easter Sunday: Our Easter schedule is pending our situation at the time. Stay tuned for updates.

We ask and encourage every family to consider their offerings that they would normally give to the church. Please MAIL YOUR CHECK or set up your bank account to make a DIRECT BILL PAY to the church. I know there is a ripple effect in our economy. Please consider God’s promise that He will indeed provide us our daily bread. Our offerings help provide for our brothers and sisters in Christ through pastoral ministry and for those in need.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 11. If you have eggs filled, you may bring them that week.

Portals of Prayer
If you need Portals of Prayer (or any other resources), please let the Office know and we can mail you a copy.

Pastoral Care
I’ve been calling to check in on our members. My number is

(618) 318-3680.

It’s an unusual area code (Southern Illinois) which means you might think I’m a scam caller. So if you see that number pop up, it’s just me.
As always, if you NEED anything please let me know. If you know of anyone in need, please let me know. Whether its groceries, someone to talk to, or whatever. Let’s all work together as the Body of Christ to check on our neighbors and love them in Jesus!

Judica Sunday. “Judge me, O Lord.” If Jesus were to be judged by His Father, He’s innocent. Judged by men He is guilty. But the Father makes Him guilty so that you and I and the whole world are judged innocent in His sight. As we continue to hunker down, the Lord grant each of you peace, health, safety and the blessings of Jesus’ Word. We look forward to the time, hopefully soon, when we can once again gather together as the Body of Christ in person. Until then, we’ll “see” you online!

In Christ,
Pastor Buetow
