Church News – August 10, 2018

Dear Members and Friends of Zion,

“I’m glad I’m not like that guy! I may not be perfect, but at least I don’t act like her!” Sounds like the Pharisee praying! But all the tax collector can say is “Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner.” And he is saved by Jesus who is God’s mercy in the flesh. Come hear the story of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector as we celebrate the 11th Sunday after Trinity this weekend.

Our Back-To-School Night for our school’s students and families is this Thursday evening. Please pray for our school and all schools as the new year begins. We do still have full and half-day openings so if you know anyone with children, let them know Zion is here and offers Christ-centered academic excellence!

The Elders and I have been working on doing a better job of keeping track of members whom we haven’t seen in awhile. Remember that if you haven’t seen someone in awhile, don’t just ask, “How is so and so,” you can give them a call or send them a text! If you know of someone that needs some pastoral care, please let me know! It takes working together to care for one another in the body of Christ at Zion!

We’ll see you this weekend in the Divine Service!

In Christ, Pastor Buetow
