ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH

Friday, November 15, 2019

Dear Members and Friends of Zion,

We know Jesus says we have to forgive others, but how often? How many times do they do the same thing and when can we finally say, “Enough!” That’s the question Peter asks. He wants to put limits on forgiveness. But there are no limits to Jesus’ forgiveness and that means there are no limits to our forgiveness. After all, it’s not our forgiveness in the first place, but forgiveness from Jesus who doesn’t count our sins against us. So we don’t count others’ sins against them. This is what we’ll hear as we celebrate the 22nd Sunday after Trinity this week!

We still have a few OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD BOXES that need wrapping before we bring them to the Distribution center. Stop by during the week and wrap a few. We’ll be taking them to the Drop Off Location this coming Wednesday.

VOTERS MEETING is THIS SUNDAY at 10:30 AM. (There will be NO Learning the Faith). Please take time to hear about what’s going on around Zion and how we are doing the Lord’s work together!

CHRISTMAS DECORATING is NEXT SUNDAY, November 24, at 11:00 AM.(AFTER Learning the Faith). If you can spare some time to help get our church ready for the Advent and Christmas seasons, it would be much appreciated. We’ll order some pizzas for lunch for those who can stay and help. Thank you!

We always need to hear the Lord’s Word of forgiveness. Otherwise, we’ll become smug and forget that we need to forgive others. The Lord has wiped away a debt of 10,000 talents. Don’t strangle someone for a few bucks! I look forward to announcing that forgiveness to you again.

See you in the Divine Service!

In Christ,
Pastor Buetow
