Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Several times in the Bible we hear of  the “four corners of the earth” or “the four winds.” The Good News of Jesus’ death and resurrection was to go to the ends of the earth. Of course, being round, the earth doesn’t really have corners, but think of the four directions: North, South, East, West. So there are four Gospels written by four Evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. One of my favorite parts of Holy Week is that we get to hear each of these Evangelists tell us the story of Jesus’ suffering and death for sinners.  Many details are the same, but each Evangelist also gives us some details that are unique to their own account. These details give us a rich and deep look at the work of Jesus is fulfilling God’s Promises, in fulfilling prophecies, and in accomplishing the salvation of the world. I hope you’ll join this Holy Week to hear these wonderful accounts of what Jesus underwent for our salvation. A summary of our Holy Week and Easter Services is below.

Holy Week is a week where we focus entirely on Jesus. With services each day, we have the gift of the opportunity to hear what our Lord has done and accomplished for us. The heart and center of the Christian faith is that Jesus died for sinners on the cross on Good Friday and was alive again on Easter Sunday. That’s not just historical facts. It is the reason for the hope that is in us. It is our comfort and peace in all affliction. It is our joy and gladness in the midst of sorrow and sadness. His death is our life and His resurrection is the hope and promise of everlasting life! I look forward to worshipping during Holy Week and receiving Christ’s gifts in person this year!
