Church News August 31, 2018

Dear Members and Friends of Zion,

How do you say “Thank You” to Jesus? Go to Communion! We’ll sing it in the liturgy this week: “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits to me? I will take the cup of salvation and call on the Name of the Lord!” Join with the Samaritan leper and be where Jesus is this week in His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation.

Make sure to order your MUMS and SPIRIT WEAR this week! There are school shirts and church shirts this year! Proceeds from those fundraisers help our Zion Parents Network do great things around our school!

Next Sunday is Rally Day! It’s a great time to re-commit to being in the Word of God. We’ll have Learning the Faith for all Ages at 10:15 AM, the Galatians Study at 8:00 AM (both on Sunday) and Tuesday Morning Bible Study starts up this week at 10:30 AM. Join us as we read and hear and learn God’s Word and what it means for our lives.

One more call for Parents: If you’d like to enroll your child for First Communion, let me know and then be at Learning the Faith next Sunday, September 9!

Also in September: Youth Planning Lunch, Sunday Sept. 23, 11:30am. Board of Ed. will provide lunch for parents and youth and we’ll do some planning for the year as well as talk about next summer’s Higher Things conference!

Zion Fall Fun at Richardson Farm, Sunday, Sept. 30, 1pm. All ages are invited to enjoy the corn maze and other fall fun at Richardson’s Farm. More information and a signup sheet will be available soon, but mark your calendar now!

When the leper realized he was cleansed of his leprosy, he ran back to Jesus. See you where Jesus is this weekend in the Divine Service!

In Christ, Pastor Buetow
