Dear Members and Friends of Zion,
What should you wear to a wedding and reception? Tux? Fancy dress? Shorts and a T-Shirt? The Lord is throwing a Feast for His Son, the Bridegroom and you’re invited! And you’re already dressed in your baptismal robe, never looking better! In fact, every Divine Service is like a rehearsal dinner for the last day. Think about that: the kingdom of God, whatever else it is like, is like a king who throws a party and brings everyone in to enjoy it. A party! A celebration! He even provides the clothes to wear. Hear about it this 20th Sunday after Trinity coming up.
The Youth are going to an Escape Room on Sunday at 4:00. Let Pastor know if you’re interested in joining us. Twisted Limits in McHenry, $30 per person.
Don’t forget to come to Culver’s in McHenry THIS MONDAY from 4-9. Mention Zion and our school will earn 15% of sales that night! Thanks for supporting our school and our Zion Parents Network!
Next Sunday we’re having a Game Night at 4pm and a Bonfire later on (around 7). Bring your favorite games and fall food and enjoy some friendly competition followed by some fellowship around the fire. It should be a great Fall evening!
We’re in the midst of preparing for our annual Higher Things Retreat, November 2-3. We’ll welcome 50+ youth to our church for a time of worship, learning the Word, and fun! If you’d be available and willing to help with the retreat, please talk to Pastor or Liz Stade.
