If we were to be good “farmers,” we’d definitely pick out places where the Word of God should not be scattered and obviously wasted. But not Jesus! He sows the seed of His Word all over the place. Here! There! Everywhere! It’s like it’s His Word to sow in a way that looks wasteful. Then again, that’s how He does things in the Kingdom of God: it’s crazy wasteful in a way that His gifts really are for everyone. Come hear more on this weekend of Sexagesima (60 days until Easter).
THANK YOU! Thank you to all who have so generously contributed to our “Zion Family Giving.” Keep checking for tags as they will be put up when members have needs we can help with. Just last week I had a family contact me and say, “Pastor, we need some help with groceries.” I mentioned it in my email last week and Zion delivered! We have helped at least four Zion families since November. Thank you to ZAP, too, who helps coordinate help with those who need it. It’s a great joy to see such love of neighbor going on in Christ’s body!
We are seeking Mystery Readers for our school on selected Fridays! Mystery Readers come to school (around 1:45pm) on Fridays and read a couple of children’s books to our students. It’s lots of fun and if you’d like to sign up for a slot, let Pastor or Susan know.
Please don’t forget to spread the word about our school! Remember we have half- and full-day programs for 3 years old up through First Grade. Just send folks our way and we’ll get them the info!
Once again we hear a parable this weekend that is more about the Lord than about us. The Parable of the Sower is about Jesus who scatters His Word everywhere, to everyone.
See you in the Divine Service this weekend!
In Christ, Pastor Buetow
