“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” On that particular day, Jesus showed His Apostles that they needed Him to be able to catch any fish. But He would use them to catch men, that is, bring people into the kingdom of God through the preaching of the Gospel. That’s how God sets things up. He doesn’t tell us to go looking for Him. He comes to us through the gifts of the Word and Body and Blood of Jesus given through the men He calls to be His fisherman, His pastors. We’ll hear this story as we celebrate the Fifth Sunday after Trinity this weekend.
When you receive this email, myself, two adults, and three youth be on the way home from the Higher Things “Concordia” conference at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon.
